Initially,LED is used as  instruction light source of instruments, then all kinds of light-colored LED are widely used in traffic lights and large screens  producing good economic and social benefits. Take 12-inch red traffic lights for example, There used long life, low efficiency of 140 watt incandescent light as the light source in United States
, which produces 2000 lumens of white light. In lights of new design, Lumileds has used a 18 red LED light source , including circuit losses, 14 watts totallypower consumption, can produce the same effect.

Automotive LED lights are also important areas of light application. In 1987, China began set up high vehicle brake lights.LED's response speed is fast (nanosecond), which let the driver early to know  operating conditions and reduce rear-end accidents.

In addition, LED lights has been applied in the outdoor red, green, blue full-color display, mini key chain flashlight fields.
